Kirsten A. Boulier, MSW, RCSW
Kirsten has been working in social services since 2009 - supporting a variety of individuals facing a diversity of life crises and issues.
Kirsten is trained in basic and advanced applications of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and she is currently working on EMDR certification as a commitment to ongoing skill development and education in the field of EMDR Therapy.
In addition, Kirsten is educated and trained in Attachment-Based Therapy, Somatic Interventions for Trauma, Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Integrative Somatic Parts Work, Expressive Art and Play Therapy, Trauma-Focussed Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Anxiety and more. Kirsten is also a trained facilitator of the attachment-based parenting groups: Connect and Circle of Security.
Kirsten attended the University of British Columbia and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Honours Psychology in 2014. Her honours thesis examined the intersection of self-harm, intimate partner violence, and psychopathy.
In 2017, she completed a Master of Social Work degree from her alma mater with a clinical specialization and a focus on child, youth, and family psychotherapy.
Post-grad, she continued developing her clinical skills in remote rural B.C. supporting children, youth, and families to heal intergenerational and complex developmental traumas. She is grateful to have lived and worked on beautiful unceded Nuxalk Territory for 5 years, and is still connected to the community.
In 2019 Kirsten became a certified 200 hour Yoga Teacher (200CYT) in order to safely incorporate body-based healing through mindful movement and breathwork.
She is currently working in-person with youth and adults in lower mainland BC, as well as providing online counselling to youth and adults living anywhere in Canada.
In her trauma therapy practice, she promotes healing from childhood difficulties to improve relationships, increase connection, and strengthen resiliency.
Kirsten is a Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) with the BC College of Social Work, upholds professional ethics, and pursues regular professional development to ensure her practice is excellent.
