Kirsten A. Boulier, MSW, RCSW
Hey, I’m Kirsten.
I grew up in so called lower mainland, B. C., and have visited many of the wonderful territories here. I love to explore different places and cultures.
I bring that same exploratory curiosity to my trauma therapy practice and absolutely love getting to know clients through their lens. I know everyone has a unique story to tell, and learning about each client’s resiliency and experience is a privilege I deeply respect.
I provide trauma therapy services to youth and adults from all over Canada (online and while travelling), and I see clients for in-person counselling in Maple Ridge, BC.
I am passionate about supporting people to cultivate a strong sense of self, to heal from challenging childhoods, and create a rich life they can be excited about!
From 2017 - 2022 I lived on beautiful Nuxalk Territory in Bella Coola, B.C., working with children, youth, and adults to heal intergenerational and complex developmental trauma. I am grateful for such a meaningful and immersive experience working with indigenous people.
I am now living in the Fraser Valley connecting with my own family.
I came to this work through my own experiences of adversity and healing, so I have a deeply personal understanding of the healing process.
I believe everyone is on a quest for healing and our purpose here is to evolve, love, connect, and contribute.
I bring warmth and compassion into the therapeutic relationship, and support my clients to feel comfortable and valued. Collaboration is essential to a healthy therapeutic relationship and I am always open to feedback about my clients’ experience of me and the therapeutic process.
There is much to be gained from joy and laughter, so once clients are comfortable with me I create space for humour in the counselling experience. Life is too short to be serious all the time. Healing is both messy and beautiful - going in with light heart can make the process easier. So, I hope we can find joy in this together!
When I’m not meeting with clients or working on my private practice, I love hiking and spending time in nature with my four-legged BFF, Aussie.
I am a certified 200hr yoga teacher and love to include mindful movement into my own self-care routine. I also love to paint, sing, crochet, and much more!
I look forward to walking beside you on your quest for healing, and helping you uncover greater capacity for living fully, whatever that might look like for you.
